9: 00 am, 2:00 pm

This is one tour the whole family will love and, to make sure of it, we will choose one of our very special child friendly guides for you! Rome has almost to much to see but this tour will tick many, many things of your list. Circus Maximus, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona and the Pantheon just for starters. For three hours the emphasis will be on your children’s enjoyment!

Information will be passed constantly in a fun way. Children will be encouraged to question what they will see. A great time to be had by all. Take the Panoramic Rome Highlights for Kids tour and you will be able to make best use of your valuable time in our wonderful city. Your personal private guide has all the answers and will happily interact with the whole family and your driver will get you effortlessly from place to place. Your driver will pick you up from your central Rome Hotel to make your day even easier.

In 3 hours your private guide will lay bare the strata’s of history that have made Rome what it is today. From ancient ruins to beautiful fountains, stunning churches and temples going back to Rome’s early days, it is all in this tour.

After being collected from your hotel we will first visit Circus Maximus, which is a huge open arena predominantly famous for its exciting chariot races in ancient times. Nearby, we will have a view of the Caracalla Baths, which in ancient times were the second largest in Rome, built during the reigns of two emperors, Septimius Severus and Caracalla. The baths are close to another little known gem, a unique keyhole which when looked through will give you a great view of St Peter’s Basilica. This viewpoint at the top of The Aventine Hill is a particularly beautiful place, the Keyhole is actually a long narrow foliage covered archway. Perfect spot to get out your cameras for family portraits. While we are in this area you will also see “The Mouth of Truth”, a marble carving of a face with an opening in its mouth. It was believed in ancient times that if you put your hand in it and were a dishonest person you hand was cut off... scary indeed.

We will then descend the Aventine hill and come upon the Theatre Marcellus which is so like a small Colosseum. The theatre was called the Jewish Theatre as it was on the edge of The Jewish Ghetto and, on the top level of it, now are some extremely expensive apartments that are owned by some of the wealthiest Jewish families in Rome. Arriving at Piazza Venezia you will see the Altare Della Patria (Altar of the Fatherland), a tribute to the first king of a unified Italy, Victor Emmanuel. Next The Pantheon followed by Piazza Navona and The Trevi Fountain. Throw in your coin to ensure that you will return to Rome one day as the legend says. All the money goes to charity if you were wondering.

Now we will ascend The Quirinal Hill to view the Quirinal Palace which is the rather grand home of the Italian President. Then you will see the world famous Spanish Steps, which are not Spanish but ask your guide to explain that story to you. You might want to then see The Crypt of the Bones which is constructed from the bones of dead Capuchin monks, yes really! Not for the faint hearted but kids love it. It is not possible to list everything in this description as you will discover on this tour your guide will never stop pointing out more and more wonders of Rome.

In Italian life, children are very important and given much more respect than in most cultures. We include our children in everything, rarely going out without them. So please for a few hours let us spoil your kids and you can come along too. At the end of this great tour, your driver will return you to your hotel or a central location by arrangement. This is the best possible way to see so much in such a short time so hurry and choose the Panoramic Rome Highlights for Kids With Guide and Driver.
