Led by a personable English-speaking expert guide, let us take you on a magical tour of Baroque Rome! The “Eternal City” had the superstars of that historical period in its grasp. Michelangelo, Caravaggio and Bernini were and still are the best known but we have many more to tell you about. Together we will discover the classic, timeless beauty that is “Baroque Rome”.

Come with us on this Small group tour through the heart of Baroque Rome to see the work of the greatest Masters of Art! This 3-hour, gentle pace walking tour meets at Bernini’s Fountain of the Four Rivers in Navona Square, the guide will have a sign "Rome Private Guides". Navona Square one of the most beautiful piazzas in Rome, adorned with 3 fountains ruled by Bernini’s Four Rivers Fountain a masterpiece of Baroque elegance. Stories abound about the rivalry between Borromini, the designer and Bernini the sculptor and how it ended up affecting the final outcome of this beautiful creation. Ask your guide then you decide if they are true!

Stroll to the nearby Pantheon. This is the oldest church building in the world as it was constructed nearly 2000 years ago originally as a Pagan temple and later converted into the church you see today. Incredibly, the structure is in fantastic condition considering its age. Its huge free-standing dome is an architectural masterpiece with a huge hole in the middle which your expert guide will explain. See the Pantheon from outside. Then go to see the spectacular baroque Church of St. Ignatius with the impressive painted dome that seems real.

Reach the Minerva square with the amazing sculpture of the Elephant done by Bernini for the Pope Alexander VII, allow your guide to tell you a real anecdote that will make you smile and discover how artists used their art to communicate…..

Moving on we will go to the beautiful Spanish Steps. Want to know more? Just book and join us!
