When it Italy, Florence is without a must. Birthplace to Dante, Machiavelli, Lorenzo de Medici, and many more important figures that played a role in the development of mankind as we know it, Florence is the emblem of the Renaissance period. Join us on a Day Trip to Florence and discover the city in just 9 hours.  Your tour will start at your hotel where your private driver will be waiting for you. In fact, don’t forget to inform us as for where you are staying so that we can arrange the transfer.
Once aboard your air-conditioned vehicle, your English speaking driver will delight you with stories and anecdote about Lazio and Tuscany while you travel through the beautiful countryside, crossing three regional boarders: Lazio, Umbria, and Tuscany.   At your arrival you will be picked up by your guide and start your walking tour around Florence. First stop: Ponte Vecchio. Literally translating to “Old bridge”, Ponte Vecchio is one of the trademarks of Florence. It is a medieval stone bridge built over the river Arno and is famous for the shops built along it, as once was common.
Just around the corner you’ll find the Palazzo Vecchio situated in Piazza della Signoria. The building is Florence’s town hall and was built in 1299. Here you’ll find a copy of Michelangelo’s David but don’t worry, you’ll get to see the original by the end of your tour.  Follow your guide and listen to the stories of how Florence’s politics influenced the development of Italy, and how Dante created the Italian language from the Florentine dialect. At some point you’ll get to Florence’s Cathedral, the Duomo di Santa Maria del Fiore. The construction process began in 1296 and was completed in 1436 with the dome designed by Brunelleschi. Admire the polychrome marble panels that decorate the façade of the church, enjoy the mix of the Gothic style with the more delicate look given by Brunelleschi’s dome. The complex of Santa Maria del Fiore includes also St. John’s Baptistery and Giotto’s Campanile, the bell-tower that plays an interesting optical illusion on its admirers.
Last but not least, you’ll visit the Galleria dell’Accademia, where you’ll have the opportunity to see Michelangelo’s David. Benefit from our Skip the Line entrance, and don’t worry about standing in line for tickets. The Gallery of the Accademia is the home to many masterpiece, but of course the main star is the magnificent marble sculpture that depicts David in the moment after killing Goliath.  So there it is! Just a couple of hours by car and you’re in a completely different world. What are you waiting for? Book now and start exploring Florence. There’s no doubt that you’ll be on the mouth of everyone once you go back home!
